Attorney Todd Scalzo Appointed to Illinois Supreme Court’s Committee on Character and Fitness

Todd Scalzo, an attorney with Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella, LLC, has been appointed to the Committee on Character and Fitness in the Third District by the Illinois Supreme Court. MKFM Law is proud to congratulate Attorney Scalzo on this achievement. The firm’s team is excited to see how he will thrive in this role.
Todd Scalzo’s term as a member of the Committee on Character and Fitness will begin on January 1, 2025 and continue until December 31, 2027. While serving on this committee, Attorney Scalzo will help decide which applicants have the proper moral character and fitness to become practicing attorneys in the state of Illinois. This responsibility will consist of evaluating applications, conducting personal interviews when necessary, issuing certifications to the Bar, and making recommendations to the Board of Admissions.
Attorney Scalzo has been practicing law for 20 years. He joined MKFM Law in 2017. Throughout DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties, Mr. Scalzo represents spouses, parents, and other parties, helping them address legal issues related to divorce, child support, parental responsibilities, spousal maintenance, and paternity, among many others. He is also a court-approved guardian ad litem and mediator. Outside of the courtroom, Attorney Scalzo actively participates in his legal community as a member of several associations, including the DuPage County Bar Association, the DuPage Justinian Society, and the Kane County Bar Association.

Since 1949, MKFM Law has provided legal services to residents and businesses throughout DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Will, Cook, and Lake Counties. The team is excited to expand the firm’s reach to serve residents of the DeKalb County area.
MKFM Law has acquired the Law Office of Riley N. Oncken, P.C. from Attorney Oncken, who was recently elected as the DeKalb County State’s Attorney. The firm will work to address the legal needs of Mr. Oncken’s clients and others in Sycamore and DeKalb County. With 200 years of combined attorney experience, MKFM Law is a highly regarded law firm that is known for providing knowledgeable and skillful legal services to clients throughout the state of Illinois.
Partner Attorney Joshua Bedwell will be leading the team at the Sycamore office. He has been practicing law for nearly 14 years, and he joined MKFM Law in 2012. The award is presented annually to an attorney practicing in DuPage County who has provided outstanding pro bono services to low-income individuals or charitable organizations. A Pro Bono Award Reception was hosted by the DuPage County Bar Association at Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton.
